Iceland Iceland so much so answer for...

So so so just come from a meeting in a very chic cafe near Oval House Theatre all the UK poets there plus Jean September at the end of a pretty damn gloomy day. The volcano with the unpronounceable name has screwed the Verbalized tour for April.


Plan C, which we concocted last night over drinks in a Soho pub (walls covered with aged oil portraits and London historigrafica) was to replace the SA poets with video

Damn volcano

Flashing on the Central line past heady stations heated by breath and frustration the first taste of UK summer. On my way to a big plush reception at SA High Commission for LBF, but feeling sad cos none of the SA poets are here, due to the pernicious influence of that dang blasted volcano in Iceland.

UK Tour Dates sorted - Verbalized a go go

Wow, if anyone had asked me if we could set up a UK tour 6 weeks before the first date, I would have said no way jose, but here we are, we just did it: the Verberate UK Tour 2010 is all systems go! Has it been stressful? Yes. Will it be a top buzz? Mos def.

Tour Information...

From the UK, curator Zena Edwards features alongside Khadijah Ibrahiim, Kayo Chingonyi, Dzifa Benson & Avaes Mohammad. From South Africa, featured poets are Mpho ya Badimo, Naima Mclean, Mbali Vilakazi, Masana Mulaudzi & Bulelwa Basse.

Supported by Sustained Theatre, the British Council & South African State Theatre, the Verbalized tour is a unique collaboration between ten inspirational & exciting performance poets, part of a long term cultural exchange linking artists & arts companies in Britain & South Africa.
